Photos from Friday morning

The day began with a worship talk by Chris Blake about the importance of listening to instructions while falling, drawing on his experience jumping out of an airplane. Afterward, rotations continued in the Devaney Center.

Photos from Thursday performance and contests

After the clinicians demonstrated their skills, the gymnasts competed in handstand and butterfly contests.

We’d like to have photos representing all the participating schools before the weekend is through, so if you don’t see your teammates, flag down one of the photographers in a black shirt and make sure they get a good one of you. Also, feel free to submit links to your own galleries and videos to webmaster@ucollege.edu.

Acrofest has begun

This morning started with breakfast and a worship talk. Dr. David Smith, Union College president, shared with students that God isn’t fair, and that’s a good thing. By 9:00 a.m. the students had started their day of training with demonstrations by clinicians.

Welcome to Acrofest 2008

Union College is proud to host Acrofest 2008. We have been looking forward to enthusiastic participation while interacting with fellow gymnasts and learning from certified clinicians. World renowned gymnastics coach, Francis Allen, of the University of Nebraska, has granted us access to their extraordinary facility, athletes and coaches as part of our program.

The foundation of Acrofest 2008 is building upon the rock of Christ. With Christ as the foundation of our program, Acrofest 2008 is rock solid. We are thankful for each gymnast who has joined us and we invite the community to our finale performance on Saturday night, Nov. 15 at 7:30 p.m. in the Bob Devaney Sports Complex.

Seth Perkins
Gymnaires Head Coach

P.S. You can read updates on Acrofest below, visit team links to the side, and see a schedule above. For information about Acrofest and details on the Saturday night exhibition, read the press release in the Union College news section or see the Lincoln Journal Star’s coverage of Acrofest here.
