“For unto us a child is born…” Isaiah 9:6

I guess this is the best I can do for writing my last GMU of the semester! I do hope you all travel safely to wherever you are going during break (AND that you all get back here safely so we can start classes again on January 10! J) As I wrote yesterday about the patience that I need to wait for God to do EVERYthing He can to save ANYone that wants to be saved I was also reminded that He also PROVIDED everything needed for that experience and this is one of the two annual events that give me the opportunity to reflect on His provision- provision intentionally being singular because there is only ONE “Provision” provided and that’s Jesus! In nine days the reminder that God send His Son to this earth to live with and for us, and in 4 months and 7 days (Easter if you don’t want to pull out your 2011 calendar yet!) when I am reminder that that Son, after living with me died for me, and rose from the grave to guarantee that His Provision is perfect and He has now done EVERYTHING necessary so ANYONE who calls on His name can be saved!

WOW, what a Provision! So now, after the stress of exams is over, I pray that we can all take advantage of the “break” to not JUST Christmas shop, but also Christmas praise. May we all celebrate the real “Reason for the season” and take time to grasp more fully the perfect Provision offered to each of us.

Have a Blessed Christmas, a good break, and a time of reflection- a kind of special Shabat for all my vespers attenders!

Have a great day with the Provider,
Pastor Rich
